Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The specified objectives of the course will be achieved by applying the relevant methods in tutorials and independently in small teams. Furthermore, the students will be enabled to use different equipments. Requirement for the course is a fundamental knowledge in physical geography, taught in the introduction courses.
Course: In the beginning of the field class a physical geographical introduction of the study area is given. Accordingly to the objective, the students are expected to apply the field techniques in teams. Additionally, the determined data has to be analysed and interpreted by the students.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students are expected to participate throughout the field course, as well as give a short presentation and write a term paper. Additionally, they must work in groups to write a second paper (results of field work) - a task they should mostly be able to fulfill during their stay in Kaunertal.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Learning and applying of field techniques in physical geography by means of specified issues with a main focus on geomorphology (mass movements and glaciology).
