Aims, contents and method of the course

Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics is one of the great texts about moral philosophy. In this seminar the essential concepts of Aristotelian moral philosophy will be examined through reading the whole text and thus dealing with philosophical primary literature.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation, weekly commentries about text passages, active participation during discussions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Active participation during the seminar (80% physical presence at least), presentation, weekly commentries

Examination topics

fundamental ethical questions, significant categories and arguments of Aristotelian virtue ethics
