Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Im Zentrum der Lehrveranstaltung steht das Close Reading von zentralen Texten aus der Geschichte der Kulturwissenschaften und Cultural Studies, die in der einführenden Vorlesung schon angesprochen wurden. Anhand einer intensiven Auseinandersetzung mit Schriften von Stuart Hall, Raymond Williams, Antonio Gramsci, Louis Althusser, Michel Foucault u.a. erschließen wir uns kulturwissenschaftliche Schlüsselbegriffe wie Kultur, Hegemonie, Ideologie, Diskurs und Identität.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Regelmäßige aktive Teilnahme, Lektüre aller Texte, Präsentation eines Textes: Referat mit Handouts und Diskussionsfragen; Verfassen von Lektüreprotokollen (im Laufe des Sommersemesters).
