Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
We will deal with texts concerning music in Greek antiquity, from the late classical philosophical discourse up until Roman-period handbooks, always keeping in view what we known about ancient music as such - instruments, notation, rhythm, melody.
Assessment and permitted materials
written and/or oral exam, according to the curriculum.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Griechischkenntnisse nützlich, aber nicht vorausgesetzt.
Examination topics
Texts and additional information as discussed in the course, on the basis of the handouts.
Reading list
Literature will be discussed.
