The course will be held in a HYBRID format. The sessions on March 11 and April 15 will be held on site; the sessions on March 18, April 08, April 22, April 29, and May 06 will be held online, via BigBlueButton, during the regular class hours. Alternating on-site and online attendance (half the class for each mode) is planned for the remaining sessions, starting on May 13.

Students who do not attend the first session without notifying the lecturer will be deregistered.

Students are expected to have a stable Internet connection to be able to participate in interactive activities during online sessions; use of microphones and webcams will also be required.

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

Content:
Building on the skills and knowledge acquired in PPOCS 1, this course focuses on interactive speaking skills and formal presentations. It discusses characteristic features of spoken language and provides ample opportunity for practice. Students will continue to work on their pronunciation and will learn to make effective use of intonation, voice, turn-taking devices, and lexico-grammatical means to interact successfully in conversations and formal discussions.

Aims:
- to speak fluently and effectively in various forms of interaction and production
- to have expert knowledge of the characteristics of spoken language
- to have practical analytical skills, e.g. for monitoring own speech and for error analysis in the speech of others

Methods:
Communicative language practice based on the discussion of theoretical concepts, presentations, role plays.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

Assessment is based on peer feedback tasks (oral and written peer feedback on presentations, written feedback on a spoken interaction performance), three self-reflection assignments, PPOCSfolio 2, and a final oral exam consisting of two parts: a revised version of the in-class presentation and an interaction (outcome-based discussion) in groups.

2. Final exam: presentation (35%)

1 (Sehr gut) 100-90%
2 (Gut) 89-80%
3 (Befriedigend) 79-70%
